Four local groups will screen a new documentary examining the experiences, challenges and insights of public school teachers in the Charlotte area.
"Souls of Our Teachers," a half-hour film, is a collaboration between Mecklenburg Ministries, Temple Beth El, Communities in Schools and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
The documentary will be used to recruit teachers to some of the city's most challenging schools and to encourage volunteerism in public schools.
A similar documentary, "Souls of Our Students," was released in 2008, won awards and is being used in local businesses, congregations and schools across the country. The new release provides an honest look at the teaching challenges and opportunities that exist in urban public school education today.
The screening will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at ImaginOn.
